Also, some universities and training programs may offer discounted fees for plastic surgery. And sometimes, plastic surgeons travel abroad to help children with conditions such a cleft lip. Some plastic surgeons elect to offer their services pro-bono in certain circumstance, but this is at the discretion of the plastic surgeon performing the procedure.
