How Soon Can I Exercise After Breast Augmentation?

A lot of my patients ask; “how soon can I exercise after breast augmentation”? I advise my breast augmentation patients that it usually varies by person. I am a firm believer in early motion and stretching, and recommend that my breast augmentation patients do this – we do discuss this in our consultations as this also varies from patient to patient.

A good general goal is to be able to raise your arms above your head by the third day after your breast augmentation procedure. I am a believer in early motion and stretching and usually recommend that my breast augmentation patients ease their way into upper body exercises and avoid running for two weeks after a breast augmentation, and also to wear a sports bra when they do run for the at least a month after breast augmentation. I have had patients run 5K races at two weeks, so it is really an individual thing.
